How to Add a Drop Down Menu in Wix

When creating a website, it’s important to create a user-friendly navigation system. One of the most popular ways to do this is by using a drop-down menu.

Drop-down menus are great because they help visitors find the information they’re looking for quickly and easily.

Fortunately, adding a drop-down menu in Wix is surprisingly simple.

Wix is an easy-to-use website builder that makes it simple for anyone to build a website from scratch. It’s also packed with features and allows you to customize your site with ease.

As you learn more about Wix, you may discover that it has some amazing features and options for creating a great user experience on your website. One such feature is the ability to add a drop-down menu.

How to Create a Drop-Down Menu in Wix?

The first step is to log into your Wix account and open the site editor.

Once you’ve opened the editor, click on Add and then select Menu from the list of options.

This will open up the **Menu Settings** window where you can create your drop-down menu by selecting Drop Down Menu from the list of options:

  • Name your Menu
  • Choose Menu Type
  • Select Pages & Subpages

Next, click Create Menu to finish creating your new drop-down menu. Now that your drop-down menu has been created, it’s time to start configuring it so that it looks and works as expected on your site.

Setting Up Your Menu

Once you’ve created your new menu, you can start setting up the different elements in order to customize the look and feel of it on your site.

First, select which pages will appear in the menu by clicking Pages & Subpages in the Menu Settings window and then adding pages from there or creating new ones:

  • Select Pages & Subpages
  • Add Pages To Your Drop-Down Menu

After adding pages or subpages, you can reorder them if needed by clicking on each item and dragging them into place in an order that makes sense for visitors who use your site.

Once done click Save located at the top right of this window (next to Publish).

Adding Pages To Your Menu

After selecting which pages will appear in your drop-down menu, you can start adding content such as images or text by clicking on each page one at a time from within the Window Designer section located at the bottom left corner of this page:

  • Select Page From Within Window Designer
  • Select Content Types
  • Add Text/Images/Videos

Here are some content types available within Window Designer:

  • Text
  • Images
  • Videos

Once you’ve added all of your content, click Save Changes located at the top right corner (next to Publish).

Choosing The Look And Feel Of The Menu

Now that you’ve added content, it’s time to customize how it looks on screen. To do this, go back into Menu Settings window located at the top right corner (next to Publish). Here are some settings available here:

  • Choose Font & Style
  • Adjust Spacing
  • Adjust Size & Color

By changing these settings here as per requirement, you can quickly change how much spacing appears between elements as well as font size, font family, and color. Once done click Save located at the top right corner (next to Publish).

Selecting Where You Want To Place The Menu

The last step for setting up our new drop-down menu is selecting where we want it placed on our website.

Fortunately, this process is pretty straightforward too. In order for us to place our newly created drop-down menu properly, we need first to go back into the editor.

From there we need to drag and drop our new menu into place. Once done we just need to publish our changes by navigating over publish button at the top right corner of the screen.

Congratulations! Now with our newly created & published dropdown navigation now ready, it’s time to take a few finishing touches such as linking pages properly. Once all touches have been taken care of now we are ready to put our website out there world see!

But remember if any changes are required regarding our navigation just repeat the steps outlined above again to make the changes necessary –the great thing about Wix is that editing existing items is always an easy breeze!
